If you’ve taken a look at the forecast, you know it’s about to get cold! Most of us here in the Lowcountry aren’t use are not used to cold weather so here are a few easy tips to make sure your pool equipment makes it through the brisk weather.
- If you aren’t already, make sure to run your equipment during freezing temperatures. This time of year, you may want to leave your equipment off, but during a freeze it needs to be running so that it doesn’t freeze.
- Be sure to maintain a proper water level in your pool or spa.
- DO NOT BACKWASH. Your pressure gauge may not be accurate during freezing temperatures so it’s best to just let it be until it warms up again.
- If you lose power to your equipment at anytime, turn off power at the circuit breaker.
Make sure you continue to balance your pool water even in the winter. It’s much easier to take care of through the winter than to start from scratch come spring. If anything should happen to your pool or equipment, do not hesitate to give us a call and schedule a service call.
Stay warm!
